Summary Of Responsibilities
The Marketing Assistant will support the marketing team in the execution of the organization’s marketing strategies, ensuring smooth departmental operations and consistency across various channels. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Assistant will contribute to the creation, coordination, and execution of campaigns that inspire community engagement with the Garden.

The physical demands and characteristics of the work environment described here are representative of those occurring in the performance of the essential functions of this job. The employee occasionally may lift and move up to 40 pounds. Although the position is primarily located indoors, the ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions is expected. Expected to perform with minimum supervision and act independently within the scope of normal duties and responsibilities. On regular occasion, required to work extended hours as well as weekend and evenings in an outdoor setting. Minimal travel may be required.

Competencies/Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with graphic design tools such as Canva is a plus.
- Experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) and scheduling tools.
- Basic knowledge of email marketing platforms and website content management systems.
- Attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Creative thinker who works well both independently and collaboratively.
- Strong consumer service and interpersonal skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field, or minimum 1 year of relevant experience, required.
- Experience with social media content creation, preferred.
- Flexible availability, including occasional evenings and weekends.
- Provide administrative support to the VP of Marketing & Guest Experience and Director of Marketing, including coordinating meetings and tracking campaign metrics.
- Assist Marketing Team with implementing marketing campaigns across digital and print platforms.
- Schedule meetings, appointments, and events for the marketing team and other stakeholders.
- Handle incoming and outgoing communications, including emails, phone calls, and correspondence, ensuring timely responses.
- Maintain an organized digital and physical filing system for marketing assets, reports, and vendor contracts.
- Process invoices, expense reports, and paperwork related to marketing projects.
- Coordinate content updates for Garden’s website including tickets for classes and events.
- Support the creation and editing of promotional materials such as flyers, posters, and digital graphics.
- Maintain and organize the department’s photo and video archives.
- Help manage the marketing calendar and ensure deadlines are met.
- Support with onsite events and special projects as needed.
