Job Scope

Position Summary
Responsible for designing, planning, developing, communicating, and implementing talent acquisition strategies to
attract candidates, continuously increasing the pool of critically skilled high performing candidates. Acts as a
strategic partner with key stakeholders by understanding the organization's staffing needs, the competitive market
for the needed talent and the ability to develop customized sourcing strategies to meet and exceed hiring needs
and expectations. May manage recruitment programs designed to attract candidate pools for internship
opportunities or as a resource for temporary or part-time assignments. Serves as a liaison between potential
candidates and hiring managers, promoting a positive experience with the district which can encompass
touchpoints such as the initial job posting, marketing efforts, job fairs, interview process, follow-up activities,
extending offers and ensuring a smooth on-boarding experience.
Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities
1. Responsible for all aspects of the talent acquisition process for part-time positions.
2. Assist in fostering relationships with hiring managers and external organizations to develop an
understanding of the district's vision, external factors challenging the vision and the talent needed to
achieve those goals. Research to identify sources to recruit candidates.
3. Aid the facilitation of staffing discussions with dept/campus hiring managers to develop an understanding
of staffing needs. Utilizes data and other metrics to forecast staffing needs.
4. Develop a foundational knowledge of recruitment and hiring trends. Develops creative sourcing strategies
to increase candidate pools for targeted staffing needs. This can include reaching out to external
organizations and associations, expanding geographic locations, and social media.
5. Develop job fair and other program strategies to recruit the targeted talent. May create marketing
materials, as appropriate.
6. Interview and/or screen candidates, as appropriate; decides which candidates will move forward in the
selection process. Monitor candidate pools so that hiring managers have qualified candidates (i.e., meet
the minimum requirements of the position and have current licenses, certifications, etc.) from which to
select. Ensures hiring practices, the selection process, and hiring process are following federal, state, and
local regulations and guidelines.
7. Learn to monitor recruiting activities and candidate pools, including recruitment, selection, and retention
data. Analyzes basic data for trends and assesses/reassesses progress towards achieving hiring
objectives. Develops new recruitment strategies, as necessary, to obtain hiring objectives.
8. Provide guidance hiring managers in selecting candidates. Designs and facilitates training programs to
develop or enhance hiring managers' interview and selection skills as well as inform them of federal,
state, and local compliance requirements, certification regulations and legislative updates.
9. Extend offer and manages the candidate experience, ensuring that all touchpoints with the district are
positive. Gathers feedback and works with key human capital stakeholders to continuously improve the
experience. This can include process enhancements, better communication to set expectations, clear
understanding of the district's goals, etc.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities
expected for this position.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or four years equivalent experience
- Up to 2 years progressive recruiting or HR related experience.
- Candidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee
(approximately $50.00) paid by the employee.
Preferred Requirements
- Master's Degree from an accredited university
- 2 years progressive experience in talent acquisition/talent management and strategic staffing in K-12
setting
