This is a rare opportunity for an experienced Nursing Director to join our Senior Leadership team. This position has 24 hour responsibility for our 2nd DOU units (East - Stroke Center / West - Cardiac Step down and Progressive Care Unit) which encompass 40 beds and over 113 clinical and support staff.
San Antonio Community Hospital (SACH) maintains a reputation within the Inland Empire as a premier healthcare provider and an integral part of the community we serve. SACH is a 279 bed not for profit hospital located in Upland, California. The hospital has been a part of the Inland Empire for over 100 years and is known for providing compassionate, quality care to our patients.
We are nearing the end of an exciting expansion with our new patient tower expected to open in early 2014. The tower will allow us to provide private patient rooms with the addition of ICU, Telemetry, Medical/Surgical and Emergency beds among other services.
The VP of Nursing to whom this position reports is a hands on, dynamic, and supportive member of the Executive Team. There are over 11 other Sr. Leadership team members on the Nursing Leadership team who work together in a supportive and collegial, manner. Our professional practice committee allows our nursing staff an opportunity to meet directly with our CNO to problem solve without 3rd party representation.

POSITION SUMMARY: The role encompasses 24-hour responsibility and accountability for the effective and efficient operation of all aspects in departments of assigned responsibility.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing, related health-care or management field required. Masters Degree preferred.
Experience: Progressive experience in nursing with a minimum of one year’s experience in a leadership role. Recent acute hospital experience in the area of major assignment.
Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge in the areas of medical/legal implications, finance, labor relations, economics, and legislation that affects the health-care industry, regulatory-agency guidelines, and Nurse Practice Act. Able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
License/Certifications: Current RN license to practice nursing in the state of California. A current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS card is required.
Equipment: Basic knowledge of computer programs, such as Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Excel.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to perform essential physical job requirements.
PAY RANGE
$69.76 - $104.64
The posted pay range reflects the lowest to highest pay that was available for this position at the time of posting and may be subject to change. Salary offers are determined by candidate’s relevant experience and skills. For per diem positions, a standard rate is used based on market data and not the candidate’s individual experience.
