Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.
Education: An Associate's degree or equivalent completed college coursework (60 semester units) in business or public administration, behavioral science, human resources management, organizational psychology, statistics, or a closely related field. A list of coursework or transcripts (unofficial are acceptable) must be submitted with application if degree (as above) has not been conferred.
Qualifying degrees or coursework must be completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education. In addition, degrees completed outside of the U.S. must be accompanied by an evaluation report from a reputable credential evaluation service indicating equivalency to degrees or coursework completed at a college or university accredited by an accrediting association recognized by the United States Department of Education.

Experience: One (1) year of full-time experience in performing personnel, human resources or employment services functions, which included responsibility for personnel processes such as recruiting, hiring or onboarding, explaining rules and regulations or policies and procedures, public contact experience, and using computer based systems (i.e., databases, word processing, spreadsheets, or Internet) to assist employees and the public with personnel, employment, and benefits related processes and questions.
Substitutions:
1) One (1) year of additional qualifying experience may substitute for the required education on the basis of 1 year of experience for 1 year of education (e.g., 12 months of additional experience substitutes for 30 semester units).
2) A Bachelor's degree in one of the qualifying areas may substitute for 6 (six) months of the required experience.
There will be an online examination, which may consist of an evaluation of knowledge and skills on the following topics:
Public and Interpersonal Relations
Technical Office Procedures and Data Collection
English Usage, Proofreading, and Correspondence
Computer Skills and Procedures
Arithmetic and Basic Statistics
