Job Summary
The San Diego County Office of Education (SDCOE) is recruiting for a limited term Outdoor Education Program Aide in the Outdoor Education Program. Cuyamaca Outdoor School is located in the beautiful, 25,000 acre, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park in east San Diego County.
Under direct supervision, the Outdoor Education Program Aide provides support and assists with supervision for recreational and learning activities in environmental outdoor education, assists Outdoor Education staff with providing a safe atmosphere for 5th and 6th grade students, and gains knowledge and skills through exposure to all facets of a residential outdoor education program.
Anticipated start date is August 26, 2024.
Requirements / Qualifications

This position is not eligible for benefits.
A combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to experience (paid or volunteer) working in an instructional, community, clinic, or home setting with elementary or middle school-aged children. Experience with outdoor education programs, camps or youth group activities is highly desirable.
CPR and first-aid certification (or approved higher certification) certified by the American Red Cross / American Heart Association required within 30 days of employment.

It is important to note to become a substitute / limited-term employee, there will be a fingerprinting requirement that currently costs $77 (this is an up-front, out-of-pocket cost that must be paid in the form of a money order or cashier's check). In addition, if you apply and are selected for a permanent position at any point there would be an additional $77 cost (currently) for fingerprinting as a permanent employee (taken out of your first regular paycheck).
