Librarian III

Employees in this job classification assigned to a Rural Library location may be eligible for a 5% premium. An Employee's Principal Work Location must be one of the following to be eligible : Alpine, Borrego Springs, Campo, Crest, Descanso, Fallbrook, Fletcher Hills, Jacumba, Julian, Lincoln Acres, Pine Valley, Potrero, Ramona, or Valley Center.
The Digital Projects and Metadata Position : This position is responsible for the cataloging, classification, and digital preservation of items using national standards and local practices. This unit will also lead San Diego County Library’s efforts to act as a publisher for digital content related to the business of the County.
Branch Manager Position : This position is responsible for managing a large branch, planning and overseeing branch programming, cooperating with community groups, local leaders, and Friends of the Library to generate public support. You may be responsible for collaborating with local elected and government officials as well as providing supervision and training to professional and paraprofessional staff.

Condition of Employment
As part of the County of San Diego’s pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment. Current County employees may be excluded from this process.
Evaluation
Qualified candidates will be placed on a six (6) month employment list based on scores received during the evaluation of information contained on their employment and supplemental applications.
