The County of San Diego seeks part-time temporary physicians to work at San Diego County Psychiatric Hospital. Experts in General Practice, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine will examine patients and make recommendations for further study or treat patients with medical illnesses or complications and consult with providers in the community on related cases. Physicians will serve as a medical consultant to psychiatrists, nursing staff, and to the Medical Director. TEP M.D. General Practitioners are exempted from the classified service and work for the County of San Diego as physicians for a specific period of time in other than a regular capacity.
Malpractice Insurance : Pursuant to the provisions of California law, the County of San Diego, through its self-insurance program, provides coverage for its employees regarding malpractice and liability within the scope of employment.
REQUIREMENTS
- Valid license to practice medicine in the State of California.
- Verifiable experience in general medical practice.
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
As part of the County of San Diego’s pre-employment process, prospective candidates will undergo a background check (including fingerprinting) and a pre-employment medical screening prior to beginning County employment. Additional types of background investigations may be conducted based on the job-related activities of the position. Current County employees may be excluded from this process.
