San Diego Hebrew Day School (SDHDS) is a vibrant, mission-driven K–8 Orthodox Jewish day school dedicated to academic excellence, strong Torah values, and a nurturing, inclusive environment. We are seeking a dynamic, personable, and organized Director of Admissions (Part-Time) to lead and implement our student recruitment and retention strategy, and to serve as a welcoming ambassador for our school.
Position Overview
The Director of Admissions is responsible for recruiting new families, retaining current students, and guiding families through the full admissions process, from inquiry through enrollment. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about Jewish education, excels in building relationships, and is energized by engaging with prospective families and the broader San Diego Jewish community.
Key Responsibilities
? Recruitment & Outreach
Promote SDHDS in the community as a welcoming and inclusive Jewish educational option.
Establish and maintain relationships with community partners, synagogues, preschools, JCCs, and other organizations.
Attend and help plan community events, school fairs, and parlor meetings to generate new leads.
Create and implement strategies to increase school visibility and awareness.
Maintain and track a pipeline of prospective families and leads.
? Admissions Process & Family Engagement
Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective families.
Provide information, tours, and personalized follow-up throughout the admissions process.
Coordinate application intake, student assessments, and interview scheduling.
Partner with the Head of School and academic team for admissions decisions.
Collaborate with the Business Office to ensure tuition, financial aid, and enrollment steps are completed efficiently.
Facilitate a warm and organized onboarding experience for new families.
? Retention & Internal Collaboration
Work with faculty and administrators to monitor family satisfaction and student retention.
Identify and support at-risk families by building relationships and ensuring timely communication.
Partner with the Marketing and Development teams to promote school values and programs.

✔ Availability for occasional evenings and weekends for events
