Scope of Position:
The General Studies classroom teacher will teach 4-5 sections a day including English language arts, math, social studies, science, and SEL in the Lower School. Under the general supervision of the Head of Golda Meir Lower School, teachers are responsible for planning and preparing authentic, meaningful learning experiences for our students across all subject areas.. General Studies teachers are knowledgeable in Responsive Classroom practices, Singapore math, Orton-Gillingham, and interdisciplinary teaching.

Responsibilities:
- Teach 4-5 sections of Jewish Studies classes in the Lower School (likely in the 2nd-5th age bands).
- Design integrated curriculum with the support of Curriculum Leaders and the GMLS administration
- Differentiate appropriately for students with different learning styles and experience across all subject areas.
- Regularly assess students and report home appropriately to families on student progress
- Attend all faculty and grade level meetings
- Participate in all school events
- Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Head of Lower School
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- California Teaching Credential (or equivalent teacher certification)
- BA (or MA) in Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Curriculum, or similar field
- Experience with Understanding by Design and Project Based Learning
- At least 3 years teaching experience
- Experience designing units of learning for students and assessing learning through a variety of methods
- Be collaborative in nature and work well in teams to design curriculum, celebrations of learning, and programming.
- Be able to receive feedback from supervisors and communicate effectively with administrator
- A proven track record of engaging positively with parents and families
- Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to differentiate for a group of diverse learners
Salary Range & Benefits Package:
The anticipated salary range for this position is $50,643 to $83,159. The offer to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: the type and years of experience; training; practical knowledge; and education.
