Your role as an Analyst, Data Visualization & Engineering:
You will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing the datasets that serve as the foundation of our forecasts, models, and reporting while partnering with stakeholders in sales, marketing, partnerships, and across the organization to fulfill requests, incorporate new data sources, and proactively identify opportunities for improvement.
All the responsibilities we will trust you with:
Work as a primary stakeholder with coworkers in Business Strategy & Analytics and IT to enhance, expand, and utilize the data pipelines flowing into and out of CRM and the Padres data warehouse
Become the internal subject matter expert on ticketing and MLB Wheelhouse data
Using SQL, extract and transform data to support reporting, analysis, and model construction across the department
Serve as a key organizational resource on solving business problems through analytics and process design
Design and maintain dashboards tracking key metrics for use by decisionmakers across departments
Fulfill recurring and ad hoc data/report requests in an accurate, timely, and reliable manner
Collaborate on strategic projects, model creation and validation, and process automation initiatives
Exemplifying our Padres Core Values/Mission Statement: Communication and Collaboration, Progress and Innovation, Accountability and Integrity, and Effort and Results, through building meaningful connections with a diverse fan base and serving as impactful leaders in the San Diego community
Other job duties as necessary
You will be required to meet the following:
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent professional experience
2-5 years of professional experience in data engineering, analytics, insights, or similar roles
Capability of writing SQL queries and modifying an existing codebase
Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau (preferred), PowerBI, Looker, or Domo
Exceptional time management and organizational skills with capacity to concurrently work on multiple time-sensitive projects
Must be at least 18 years of age by the start of employment
Minimum physical requirements: able to sit for prolonged periods of time and occasionally access the ballpark when necessary
As a condition of employment, you must successfully complete all post-offer, pre-employment requirements, including but not limited to a background check
Salary and additional compensation:
Per the California pay transparency law, the base salary range for this full-time position is $66,560 to $80,000. As a candidate for this position, your salary and related elements of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, job-related skills and any other factors the San Diego Padres considers relevant to the hiring decision for this position.
