We are looking forward to you joining our team as a Payroll Coordinator at The San Diego Rescue Mission!

We are seeking a Payroll Coordinator with experience in Paycom to support our payroll operations. The ideal candidate will assist in processing payroll, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with payroll regulations. This role will also provide administrative support for HR-related functions as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Processing & Administration

  • Assist in processing bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payments.
  • Review and verify timecards, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Process off-cycle payrolls, corrections, and retroactive adjustments.
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Address payroll-related inquiries and assist employees with Paycom self-service tools.

Timekeeping & Compliance

  • Support the management of Paycom timekeeping, helping employees and supervisors resolve timecard discrepancies.
  • Ensure payroll practices align with labor laws and company policies.
  • Assist with payroll audits and reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Year-End Payroll & Benefits Support

  • Assist in preparing W-2s and other year-end tax forms.
  • Support benefits billing reconciliation, ensuring payroll deductions match benefits enrollment.
  • Assist with workers' compensation reporting and audits.
  • HR & Payroll Reporting

  • Generate and review payroll reports using Paycom.
  • Provide payroll data to HR and Finance as needed.
  • Support payroll-related special projects and data audits.
  • HR Support Functions

  • Assist HR with administrative functions, such as filing, mail, responding to general HR inquiries.
  • Assist with pre-screening candidates for positions at SDRM.
  • Assist with HR staff events.
  • Assist Leadership Development Manager with administrative support.
  • Qualifications

  • 2 years of payroll experience, preferably with Paycom.
  • 2 years of HR experience, preferable.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processing, tax regulations, and timekeeping systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with benefits administration and HR processes is a plus.
  • Work Environment

  • Onsite position Monday - Friday.
  • Must be able to meet payroll deadlines, occasionally working outside standard business hours

    SDRM is a Nonprofit Religious Organization and as such, we require all employees to submit to our drug screen as a condition of employment once they have accepted a position with SDRM. Because of our religious affiliation, we do not allow employees to use or consume recreational or medicinal marijuana, along with all other federally recognized substances. You will be notified prior to any employment decisions if your drug screen is returned with negative findings. Refusal to submit to testing will result in disqualification of further employment consideration.

    E-VERIFY Statement

    San Diego Rescue Mission participates in E-Verify. We will provide the Social Security Administration, and if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security, with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization. Please note that we do not use this information to pre-screen job applicants.
