BASIC FUNCTION :

The San Diego Unified School District is seeking a Class 2 Construction Inspector to perform continuous inspection of school construction projects to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents.

There is currently one (1) full-time vacancy at the Construction Management Department of the Facilities Planning Division.

• Location : 4860 Ruffner Street San Diego CA 92111
• Scheduled for 40 hours per week, 12 months per year.
• Qualifies for District Paid health and wellness benefits for employees and eligible dependents.

The Class 2 Construction Inspecto r will be paid on the OSS Salary Schedule. Salary Grade : 058. The OSS Salary Schedule can be found byclicking here.

Minimum Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

Any combination of training, experience, and / or education equivalent to six years of full-time, paid experience in the general construction field, three years of which must have been in inspection of school, hospital, or equivalent building construction.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS :

Possession of a valid California driver's license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided).

Current Class 2 certification by the Division of the State Architect (DSA).

Note : Familiarity with related computer software such as Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Primavera Unifier is desirable.
