HOW YOU WILL IMPACT OUR MISSIONThe Benefits Specialist II is responsible for the day-to-day administration of employee benefit plans and programs including federal, state, and company mandated leaves of absences. The Senior Benefit Specialist provides customer service to employees and managers to answer benefit questions and resolve problems. This position also oversees benefit plan enrollments and coordinates with benefit plan vendors and providers as applicable. This position reports to the Benefits Manager.WHAT YOU WILL DO
Ensures the leave and disability programs are administered accurately, consistently, and uniformly and in line with established policies and procedures as well as federal and state regulations.
Verifies employee eligibility for federal, stated, and SDZWA mandated leaves of absences.
Conducts leave information sessions for employees.
Provides guidance and support to employees during new hire enrollment and open enrollment.
Coordinates resolution of problems between insurance providers and employees.
Assists employees with temporary accommodation requests and works with managers to find reasonable solutions to temporary accommodation requests.
Assists with manager training for leave administration to ensure legal compliance.

JOB EXPERIENCE
Experience in human resources with an emphasis in employee benefits programs required.
Employee Relations experience preferred.
Ceridian Dayforce experience preferred.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
H.S. Diploma human resources, business, or related field preferred.
Certified Professional in Human Resource Management preferred.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Ability to operate moderately complex computer software programs required.
Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing required.
Ability to make presentations to large, diverse groups of employees required.
Knowledge of human resources disciplines required.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects with various deadlines required.
Ability to navigate complex topics involving a high level of tact and diplomacy required.
Ability to work with teams and effectively with others in a diverse environment required.
Knowledge of federal and state laws regarding FMLA, CFRA, ADA, and the Affordable Care Act required.
