Job Summary
The Dieguito Union High School District is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Long-Term Substitute Teacher for Moderate/Severe Special Education. The ideal candidate will inspire and support students with diverse needs, collaborate effectively with fellow educators and parents, and foster a positive and inclusive learning environment. This role requires a strong understanding of special education curriculum standards, a passion for teaching, and the ability to adapt to the needs of students with moderate to severe disabilities.

- Oak Crest Middle School | 100% | Anticipated start: 10/1/2024 | Anticipated end: End of 1/2025 to Middle of 2/2025 (Can be shorter or longer)

Requirements / Qualifications
Credentials currently in progress, intern, out-of-state, and 30-Day Sub Permits will not be accepted.
- Possession of a valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Moderate/Severe Disabilities (MS) OR Extensive Support Needs (ESN)
Required Documents

- Copy of Transcript (Please include BA/BS transcript along with all post-Bachelor's degree transcripts. Unofficial copies will be accepted)
- Credential Copy (Copies of credentials must be current printouts of the credential document details page from the CTC website that shows document name, subjects, authorizations, and expiration date. Certificates will not be accepted.)
- Letter of Introduction (Must be current and relative to the position you are applying to)
- Letters of Recommendation (Optional and no more than (3) three letters dated within the last 2 years)

Salary/Pay Rate

$180/Day Full Day | Three (3) hours or more

$90/Day Half Day | Less than three (3) hours (0 - 2.9 hours)

*$200/Day Full Day Long-Term | Effective on the 6th consecutive day of the assignment.

*$100/Day Half Day Long-Term | Effective on the 6th consecutive day of the assignment.

If there is a break in service after long-term pay is effective, the rate will revert back to the regular full/half day rate for 5 consecutive days.
*If a substitute is working a long-term assignment where the employee on record has a regular, broken schedule such as M-T-Th, long-term pay rate will apply on day 6 of the assignment.
