Position Title: Senior Financial Analyst
Business Unit/Service Group: CFO Office
Compensation: $120k - $140k Annually
Classification: Temporary, full-time

Main Purpose and Function
The Senior Financial Analyst plays a critical leadership role within San Francisco Ballet and is a member of the CFO office. This position will develop long-term models to assess the financial performance of the Company and provide data-driven insights regarding financial and operational improvement to support the company's growth.
This individual will enhance the budgeting, forecasting, and analysis of the finance organization. The role will also entail a significant amount of ad-hoc financial analysis to support key the company’s strategy development and initiatives.
Key Contacts and Reporting Relationships
The Senior Financial Analyst reports directly and works with the CFO. The work of the Senior Financial Analyst is project-based; this position will have wide and varied contact with the San Francisco Ballet’s management and senior executive, as well as with artistic, production, and operational staff.

Specific Duties/Responsibilities
- Prepare annual budgets, short term and long-term forecasts, cash forecasts, for the entire company and for a diverse range of San Francisco Ballet’s operational areas,
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, margin improvement, and return on investment analysis,
- Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements,
- Evaluating relevant business proposals and/or supporting negotiation terms of complex business relationships for new business areas, create forecasting models, that support decisions for relevant business proposals,
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support decision-making,
- Analyze drivers of financial performance including pricing strategies, revenue models, financial metrics, and developing performance reports to inform decision-making,
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial concepts and analyses to diverse audiences, including senior management,
- Within this general framework, the specific duties of this role are relatively dynamic, and change over time with the operational priorities and business needs of the organization
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
- Minimum seven years’ experience working in a corporate or institutional environment at an intermediate or senior level, with increasing responsibility for complex business strategy and/or business planning-related work.
- Significant experience working directly with senior management, boards of directors, or other governance bodies.
- Experience working in an environment that balances Non-profit business objectives is considered an asset for this position, as is knowledge of/experience with workings of the arts and culture sector.
- Proven project management, business processes, business planning, business analysis, business case preparation/evaluation and financial analysis/modelling skills.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, balancing independence, initiative and decisiveness with good judgement and a collaborative approach.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills that can be applied to complex, multi-faceted issues, with the ability to think objectively and innovatively, and to present solutions in clear and compelling terms.
- Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to bring together people with a diverse set of interests, styles and areas of expertise, and align them toward a unified goal.
- An aptitude for and interest in learning about a wide variety of topics.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to concurrently manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
- Superior written communication, verbal communication and presentation skills, as well as a high level of competency in office productivity tools and technology.
