Position Summary:
The Giants Baseball Operations Summer Internship is designed to help college students as well as recent graduates to gain experience working for a MLB team. The position will provide administrative support across baseball operations departments. We are looking for someone who is hungry, enjoys organization and research, has a passion for baseball or softball and is eager to learn.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assist with various administrative duties and projects such as daily maintenance of messages, mail, filing, phone calls, donation/ticket requests and frequent updates to department spreadsheets.
- Data entry into various databases.
- Organize and prepare current, former and potential player files.
- Assist with advance reports, player research and analysis.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong computer skills with proven knowledge of Microsoft Office required – with proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with programming languages (e.g. SQL, R, Python) is a plus.
- Excellent communication written and verbal skills with ability to communicate in Spanish a plus.
- Baseball/softball work or playing experience is a plus.
- Graduating seniors or graduate students preferred.
- Strong work ethic, initiative and desire to take on tasks and projects.
- Excellent administrative and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- High level of enthusiasm for the work at hand and desire for a career in baseball or professional sports.
- Can handle confidential matters and information with discretion and diplomacy.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours in non-traditional settings, including weeknights and weekends.
At the San Francisco Giants, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. The hourly rate for this position will be $22.00 /hour.
