Position Summary: The dual responsibilities of this role include serving as a Strength & Conditioning Coach at the Giants’ Papago complex in Arizona and as the Giants’ Applied Sports Scientist for the minor leagues. Position is based in Phoenix, AZ and will require regular in-season travel to minor league affiliates. Expected travel as needed to each affiliate of SAC/ RICH/ EUG/ SJ/ Dominican Republic.

Position Responsibilities
Minor League Strength & Conditioning Coach responsibilities include:
- Strength & Conditioning responsibilities supporting players at the Arizona complex, including during Extended Spring Training, Instructional League, and Development Camps.
- Strength & Conditioning Coach dedicated to in-season development projects for players pulled out of competition.
- Oversee Draft/ UDFA onboarding process.
- Help mentor Strength & Conditioning Coaches.
- Act in a capacity available for year-round operations at Papago Park.
- Assist MiLB Strength & Conditioning Coordinator with administrative duties as needed.
- Assist with monitoring and interpretation of results from athlete monitoring program in order to provide actionable insights to colleagues from across the organization, including Athletic Trainers, Strength & Conditioning Coaches, Physical Therapists, Biomechanics, Nutritionists, Mental Skills/Health Personnel, and Field Staff.
- Help evaluate and implement current and future sports science initiatives to support optimization of player health and performance across Player Development.
- Ensure consistency and quality by monitoring the implementation of current sports science projects occurring across the minor league system and by providing education to staff and players on proper protocols and procedures.
- Develop strategies and tools for communicating findings to Players, Player Development, Major League, Sports Medicine, and Sports Performance Staffs.
- Support development of optimal training and recovery programs consistent with individual player plans.
- Work hands-on with coaches and players to conduct player testing.
- Help evaluate new technologies and stay up to date on leading-edge sports science literature and concepts.
- Help design and execute in-house research to address questions related to maximizing player health and performance.
- Requires a Bachelor's/ Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in sports science-
- related field (e.g. Exercise Science, Sports Science/Kinesiology/Biomechanics).
- NSCA – CSCS required.
- NSCA – CPSS or sports science related experience preferred.
- Must have strong background in sports science, strength and conditioning, and physiology.
- Minimum 2 years of experience applying sports science at the professional or collegiate level.
- Ability to both think/plan strategically and manage/execute at the operational level.
- Strong background in data management, analytics and programming languages.
- Exceptional relationship/ rapport building skills, including ability to work effectively with wide range of departments, seniority levels, and personalities.
- Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
