TITLE:Elementary Principal
QUALIFICATIONS:1.Valid California administrative credential authorizing service in a public school.
2. Experience as a vice principal or equivalent administrative responsibility.
3. Experience as a principal is desirable
4. Bilingual/bicultural (Spanish/Mandarin/ Cantonese) is desirable
REPORTS TO:Superintendent
SUPERVISES:All certificated and classified personnel staff at the school site.
JOB GOAL:To use leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills so as to promote the educational development of each student.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Serves as the instructional leader.
2. Provides leadership in curriculum, evaluation and professional development.
3.Leads staff in advancing District goals and achieving objectives.
4.Actively seeks community support for the educational program.
5.Manages the school budget.
6.Supervises and evaluates all certificated and classified staff.
7. Manages the school in accordance with Board Policies and Administrative Rules and Regulations.
8.Supervises the instructional program, including School Improvement and Chapter I.
9.Contributes to total District educational assessment and planning.
10.Performs related duties as assigned by the superintendent.
11.Works with various members of the central administrative staff on District issues, such as transportation, special services, and the like.
12. Keeps his/her supervisor informed of events and activities of an unusual nature as well as routine matters related to the supervisor's accountability.
13.Supervises the guidance program to enhance individual student needs.
14. Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary, according due process to the rights of students.
15. Attends special events held to recognize student achievement, and attends school sponsored activities, functions, and athletic events.
16. Assumes responsibility for his own professional growth and development through membership and participation in the affairs of professional organizations, through attendance at regional, state, and national meetings, through enrollment in advanced courses, and the like.
17. Keeps abreast of changes and developments in the profession by attending professional meetings, reading professional -journals and other publications, and discussing problems of mutual interest with others in the field.
18. Serves as a member of committees and attends meetings as directed to by the superintendent.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Work 215 days on a 12 month calendar year. Salary and work year to be established by the Board.

Salary : $125,165 - $145,101
