Summary
The Student Academics Records Manager is responsible for leading the Office of the Registrar in providing academic and registration services to students, faculty, and staff. The Registrar ensures the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of student academic records and supports the university's academic mission.
Reports to: Vice President of Operations and Corporate Affairs
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide strategic leadership and vision for the Office of the Registrar, aligning with the university's academic goals and objectives.
2. Oversee the maintenance and management of student academic records, including transcripts, diplomas, and degree verification.
3. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies and regulations related to student records, FERPA, and academic integrity.
4. Develop, implement, and communicate academic policies and procedures to students, faculty, and staff.
5. Collaborate with academic departments and colleges to ensure accurate and timely curriculum changes, course scheduling, and degree requirements.
6. Supervise and evaluate the performance of registrar staff, providing training and professional development opportunities.
7. Develop and manage the office budget, ensuring effective use of resources.
8. Analyze and report on enrollment trends, student retention, and graduation rates to inform institutional decision-making.
9. Serve as the university's chief FERPA compliance officer, ensuring the confidentiality and security of student records.
10. Participate in university-wide committees and initiatives, providing expertise on academic policies and procedures.
Requirements
1. Master's degree in higher education administration, student affairs, or a related field. Preferred but not required z
2. Minimum 5 years of experience in a registrar's office or related academic administration role.
3. Proven leadership and management experience, with a strong track record of supervising staff and managing budgets.
4. In-depth knowledge of academic policies, procedures, and regulations, including FERPA.
5. Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience with student information systems (SIS) and other academic software.
2. Certification as a registrar or in a related field (e.g., AACRAO Certified Registrar).
3. Experience working in a diverse, inclusive, and multicultural environment.
4. Familiarity with accreditation standards and processes.
