What You Will Be Doing :

Under general supervision responsible for leading the planning and implementation of defined strategic marketing projects that support organization and department objectives and enhance Health Plan’s brand and competitive position. Work is moderately complex and requires a moderate degree of discretion and independent judgement.

Essential Functions

  • Engages with leadership, internal customers, and external stakeholders to identify and develop opportunities for brand awareness and adoption.
  • Leads the execution of marketing and advertising campaigns, programs and services, including development of tactical plans, communication strategies and other activities that drive media placement, promotional activities, public relations events, advertising, social media, direct mail, digital and traditional communications.
  • Prepares marketing plans and implements approved materials.
  • Makes recommendations for media planning and supports buying and execution of planned media tactics based on marketing plans.
  • Provides insights and feedback to Creative Team, Communications and / or external stakeholders to ensure brand adherence and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Oversees vendors, contractors and other external partners to ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Compiles and analyzes marketing and advertising data to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing strategies; makes recommendations based on results.
  • Develops and delivers training and related communications.
  • Compiles, develops and produces internal and external reports.
  • Implements approved policies and procedures for area of responsibility.
  • Assists with development of marketing copy and written communications as needed to support marketing activities.

Required

  • Knowledge of healthcare, managed care and / or state sponsored programs.
  • Basic knowledge of the principles of marketing and branding.
  • Ability to gather and compile market, competitor and customer insight to inform the marketing and branding process.
  • Ability to read and interpret business and regulatory information to develop priorities and drive planning efforts.
  • Basic knowledge of media and other forms of communication methods used for marketing and branding.
  • Strong planning and project management skills, including the ability to manage projects involving internal and external stakeholders to successful conclusion.
  • Strong vendor management skills, with ability to monitor and hold vendors accountable for deliverables and timelines.
  • Basic problem solving and analytical skills, including the ability to perform routine analysis, using identified data, information and / or issues, and provide recommendations.
  • Basic leadership skills with the ability to establish direction, build alliances, and inspire and motivate others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally to diverse individuals and groups inside and outside of Health Plan.
  • Relates openly and comfortably with diverse groups of people; interacts effectively with individuals both inside and outside of Health Plan; establishes and maintains effective working relationships.
  • Produces work that is accurate and complete.
  • Produces the appropriate volume of work.

  • Intermediate skills in MS Office 365, including ability to develop PowerPoint presentations.
  • Ability to speak and be understood in English.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with appropriate discretion.
  • Preferred

  • Medicare marketing or communications
  • Bilingual in one or more of Health Plan’s threshold languages.
  • Project management experience in marketing or healthcare related field
  • What You Have :

    Education and Experience

    Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or Public or Media Relations
  • At least four years of experience in managed care, Medi-Cal, Medicare or combination
  • At least two years of experience in Marketing, Communications or Public Relations; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred

  • Project management or event planning education or certificate
  • Medicare product development or member acquisition experience

    Licenses, Certifications

    Required

    Valid California driver license and reliable transportation or, the ability to obtain transportation on demand in the counties served by Health Plan if prohibited from getting a driver license due to a medically documented disability.
