General Purpose:
San Juan Oaks Golf Club, located in beautiful Hollister, California, is seeking a dynamic, creative, and results-driven Marketing Specialist to oversee and execute all marketing activities. The Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies to promote the company’s products and services, enhance brand awareness, and drive customer engagement. This person will work across multiple channels, including digital, social media, email, and traditional marketing, to generate leads and support business growth. This role requires a mix of creativity, analytical skills, and strategic thinking to craft compelling campaigns and measure their effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns aligned with business objectives.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, target audiences, and competitive insights.
  • Create and manage content for various channels, including social media, email, and websites.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and department leaders to produce marketing materials.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance using analytics tools to optimize strategies.
  • Assist in managing paid advertising campaigns, SEO, and other digital marketing efforts.
  • Coordinate marketing events, sponsorships, and partnerships as needed.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of digital and traditional marketing techniques.
  • Experience with marketing tools such as Google Analytics, CRM software, and email marketing platforms.
  • Content creation skills, including copywriting and basic graphic design.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret marketing data.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills.
  • Creativity and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

General Marketing:

  • Develop, execute, and analyze strategic marketing plans and campaigns for San Juan Oaks Golf Club, including all golf operations, restaurants (McCann’s, 36 Degrees North, and Slices), and events.
  • Manage advertising and promotional materials, including flyers, signage, posters, and digital displays.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to effectively promote upcoming events, tournaments, specials, and other club activities.

Social Media Management:

  • Oversee all social media channels (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter/X, TikTok, etc.) to ensure consistent, engaging content that aligns with club branding.
  • Oversee San Juan Oaks Google Business Page, Yelp, OpenTable and all other online data collection sites.
  • Create and maintain a content calendar, crafting compelling posts that drive interaction and engagement.
  • Respond professionally and promptly to social media inquiries and reviews.

Email Marketing:

  • Build and manage San Juan Oaks’ email database; design and distribute timely email campaigns promoting club events, dining specials, and membership opportunities.
  • Regularly analyze email marketing effectiveness and optimize strategies accordingly.

Website Management:

  • Regularly update and manage the club’s website content to ensure accuracy, relevancy, and engaging visuals.
  • Monitor website analytics and implement improvements to drive traffic and enhance user experience.

Community Engagement & Public Relations:

  • Serve as a brand ambassador, establishing relationships with local businesses, community groups, and media outlets.
  • Attend community events and functions as needed to enhance the club’s presence and community relations.

Analytics & Reporting:

  • Regularly track and report on marketing campaign performance, providing clear and concise analytics to the leadership team.
  • Proactively suggest and implement improvements based on data-driven insights.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred but not required if experience meets requirements.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant marketing experience, ideally within hospitality, restaurant, golf, or recreation industries.
  • Proven track record in digital marketing, social media management, email marketing, and content creation.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools, social media scheduling platforms, email marketing platforms (e.g., Golfback, Constant Contact), and basic graphic design (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Strong analytical skills to measure and evaluate marketing performance.
  • Ability to multitask, work independently, and manage deadlines efficiently.
