Job Summary
FOR INTERNAL CANDIDATES ONLY* (email HR Tech listed on posting to get password to apply): The San Luis Coastal Unified School District is looking for a skilled Lead Payroll Specialist for our Fiscal Services Department. The Lead Payroll Specialist will perform a variety of specialized payroll, benefits, and retirement accounting duties, serve as a technical resource to payroll and fiscal staff and prepare, maintain and audit a variety of financial and statistical payroll, benefits, and retirement data, records statements and reports. This is an in-person, full-time position in San Luis Obispo, that is supervised by the Director of Fiscal Services and will provide functional supervision of a small team of Payroll Specialists. Qualified candidates will have a combination of experience and training that should include six years of increasingly responsible payroll & financial recordkeeping experience, with at least two years in a public school system (or comparable setting). College coursework in accounting and/or finance is also desired.
