What are the responsibilities and job description for the Host position at San Ysidro Ranch?
Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant/hotel
- Seat guests and provide them with menus
- Take reservations and manage the waitlist
- Answer phone calls and provide information to callers
- Assist with coordinating seating arrangements for large parties or special events
- Maintain a clean and organized host/host station
- Communicate with the kitchen and waitstaff to ensure smooth service flow
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and requests in a professional manner
- Provide excellent customer service and create a positive dining experience for guests
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a host/host in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is preferred
- Familiarity with Aloha POS or other restaurant point-of-sale systems is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong phone etiquette and the ability to handle high call volumes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
- Exceptional customer service skills and a friendly demeanor
- Ability to work well as part of a team and collaborate with other staff members
