We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant to join our team. This role will be responsible for performing daily, monthly, and annual accounting tasks, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and supporting the department's operational needs. The ideal candidate is highly organized, analytical, and able to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Bank Reconciliations: Prepare and maintain accurate bank reconciliations to ensure proper cash management.
- Accounts Receivable: Reconcile accounts receivable balances and assist with collections as necessary.
- Rent and Landlord Requirements: Manage lease agreements, coordinate with landlords, and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
- Work Comp and Sales Tax Payments: Calculate, prepare, and submit monthly workers' compensation and sales tax payments.
- Credit Card Reconciliations: Assist in reconciling corporate credit card accounts, ensuring proper coding and documentation.
- Insurance Applications and Renewals: Coordinate insurance applications, renewals, and compliance documentation.
- Audit Assistance: Assist with audit preparation and requirements as needed.
- Retail Cash Handling: Audit retail deposits and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
- Other Duties: Perform other tasks and responsibilities necessary to support the accounting department’s goals.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 2 years of accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or retail environment.
Skills:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite) and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
