What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Director position at Sanctuary Recovery Centers?
The Clinical Director provides administrative oversight and clinical direction for the organization. Additionally, the Clinical Director assists with training and mentoring to assigned Behavioral Health Technicians and/or Rehabilitation Specialists on assigned team. This position ensures clinical quality, timely documentation, and productivity standards are met or exceeded by direct reports and ensures that assessments and individual service/recovery plans are developed and implemented for each resident on their team. Reports to Owner/CEO.Position Qualifications:This position requires the employee meets the criteria to be credentialed and privileged to conduct assessments as a qualified assessor. This is a supervisory position requiring more education and experience therefore, a person must have one of the following combinations of education, license, and behavioral health work experience:
- Master's degree in a behavioral health-related field.
- An Independent Professional license is required (LPC, LISAC or LCSVV) In addition if employee is a licensed behavioral health professional; he/she must also be credentialed and privileged before conducting assessments.
- Specialized knowledge of co-occurring substance abuse disorder assessment and treatment and Intensive Outpatient needs assessments and resources is preferred.
- Current and valid AZ Driver License with an acceptable driving record (as defined in the guidelines)
- Obtain CAQH credentialing
- Able to work non-typical hours with the need to work evenings, nights, or weekends based on the need of the facility to provide resident care; able to work overtime to the extent necessary.
- Able to work at a rapid pace for long periods of time (typically no longer than 8 hours).
- Able to push, pull, pull up, bend at the knees and waist, twist body at the waist, raise and hold arms overhead, turn head-neck-shoulders as needed, grasp other items with hands, for either extended periods of time or many times throughout the workday.
- Able to occasionally lift to 50 pounds and able to assist an adult weighing 100-250 pounds.
- Certified or willing to immediately obtain certification in CPR, First Aid, and CPI
- Ensures all administrative and clinical functions in Sanctuary Recovery Centers in each level of care function efficiently, ethically, and clinically appropriate.
- Provides direct supervision to Clinical Coordinator
- Provides administrative and clinical leadership to Sanctuary Recovery Centers team and assists with business development.
- Provides individual and group psychotherapy to Sanctuary Recovery Centers residents.
- Provides and documents clinical and administrative supervision, consultation, and mentoring of daily clinical operations for direct reports ensuring that the needs of participants are being met and that services are delivered as outlined in each participant's assessment and Individual Service/Recovery Plan.
- Monitors and evaluates, BHTs and Rehabilitation Specialists' overall performance.
- Ensures operation of daily clinical programming.
- Provides clinical oversight of services provided, assessments conducted, and individual service/recovery plans developed for each resident assigned to the team.
- Functions as the Substance Abuse Specialist for the team; aids other team members in these areas; serves as the subject matter expert regarding co-occurring substance abuse disorders and for the team.
- Monitors productivity of BHTs/Case Managers and Rehabilitation Specialists ensuring that the appropriate array and amount of services are provided to residents. Ensures direct reports are documenting service provision as needed and daily billing in the Electronic Health Record system (EHR)
- Ensures that direct reports are providing coordination of care to internal and external provider agencies, state entities, or other stakeholders (e.g. probation officers, advocates, family member, hospital staff, vocational rehabilitation, etc.) as needed.
- Brings to the attention of the Owner/CEO or designee any unmet service needs or business development opportunities.
- Available on-call 24 hours/day, 7 days/week unless otherwise scheduled as part of a rotation or in event of a scheduled absence in which coverage has been arranged.
- Pursues best practice outcomes for person with co-occurring needs including continuing education, employment, independent housing, and community tenure.
- Conducts group, individual, and family treatment to assigned caseload Additional duties as assigned.
