Sand Hospitality (SCI Hotels) is seeking an experienced Regional Operations Manager to join their team! The primary responsibility of the Regional Operations Manager is to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations and financial performance of all properties, to ensure a successful portfolio.

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE:

  1. Must have the ability to provide professional and courteous guest service.
  2. Must have good time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  3. Must have good planning and organizational skills, the ability to multitask and strong attention to detail.
  4. Must have the ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions and communicate both verbally and in writing. Must have demonstrated business communication skills.
  5. Must have the ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude when handling guest and or associate situations.
  6. Must have strong interpersonal leadership skills, the ability to delegate tasks, and set goals.
  7. Must have a working knowledge of computers, accounting skills and the ability to manage monetary transactions.
  8. Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management preferred, or equivalent experience.
  9. 5 years of previous hotel management or related experience required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Oversee the profit and revenue goals of each of the hotels ensuring financial budgets are met. Provide direction and support to each General Manager in attaining these goals, by utilizing effective yield management strategies, securing competitive data, providing analyses of the results and taking appropriate corrective action, as necessary. Implement and monitor realistic operational and capital budgets and forecasts. Compare actual operating results with budget projections and previous year’s performance.
  2. Monitor each hotel’s compliance with brand standards. Review Hotel Evaluation and ensure that the Action Items, Brand Standards and Future Standards are monitored and implemented accordingly. Provide training and expertise to hotel management in order for them to accomplish goals related to guest service key indicators. Promptly and appropriately respond to all guest complaints that are brought to this level.
  3. Research and implement effective procedures and practices in order to maximize resources effectively. Provide expertise in utilizing such programs brand rewards, Star reports, brand QA inspections, and guest surveys, for example. Build and maintain relationships within the hospitality industry as well as within the communities in which the hotels operate.
  4. Schedule frequent visits to hotel properties, in order to maintain open communication with all Associates as well as to assess the physical condition of the property. Maintain a schedule and budget for capital improvements. As needed, research options and create proposals for all necessary improvements. Ensure that all computer systems (hardware, software, etc.) are meeting standards and being utilized effectively.
  5. Interview, select, and train all new General Managers and other managers when necessary. Schedule and monitor their daily performance. Conduct performance appraisals, coaching/counseling/disciplinary action, and terminations if appropriate. Maintain positive working relationship with Vice President of Management, Owners, Guests, Associates, and brand.
  6. Actively promote training programs for General Managers as well as the rest of the hotel staff to ensure a skilled workforce with the tools, training, and desire to provide excellent guest service.
  7. Ensure safety and security practices are implemented and followed to prevent Associate or Guest injuries and ensure protection of all company assets.
  8. Demonstrate positive teamwork in order to accomplish any and all goals in addition to the aforementioned.
  9. Keeps supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.
  10. Performs all other duties as assigned.
