POSITION SUMMARY:
The Events Coordinator will serve as the SMPA liaison to tournament directors and coaches during sports events/programming/rentals. The Events Coordinator will work closely with internal departments to successfully accomplish these responsibilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
- Directly aligning with the Sand Mountain Park Mission Statement and Core Values
- Effectively using the facility management software program to ensure internal and external efficiencies; and constantly evaluating how we can make the customer experience better as it relates to adult sports programming
- Effectively coordinating program registration process
- Assisting with supervisory responsibilities of part-time team members, including assists/recommending hiring, performs training, scheduling, and supervision of facility operations team members when asked
- Responsible for detailed communication with internal departments
- Helping execute various small- and large-scale non-sport events for the facility Helping with operational aspects of Amphitheater events when needed Ensuring guest satisfaction and a high level of guest service by providing timely and clear communication with all SMPA related events
- Sell tickets for in-person transactions during the week.
- Day of Coordination of events and meetings
- Manage day to day operations for front facing work
- Performing the role of Manager on Duty (MOD) when scheduled
- Other duties as assigned my management
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
- Experience in managing staff in order to effectively execute a successful event
- Proven success in managing multiple events at one time
- Knowledge of supervisory principles, with an emphasis on working with and training part-time operations team members
- Experience and success in customer service, leadership, and organization
- Action-oriented personality with a 'get it done' attitude and proficiency for efficiency
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours) and regular attendance necessary
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain focus in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Must have excellent guest service skills
- Must be detail-oriented and have outstanding organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Ability to remain calm and focused in difficult and stressful situations
- Must be respectful and friendly to our athletes, members, guests, visitors, spectators, leaders, and fellow Team Members
- Must work well with others
- Must take personal initiative for the betterment of the team and facility
- Commitment to the safety and wellbeing of others
- Possess current CPR/First Aid/AED certifications or must be willing to obtain them within a specified time period
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to lift 40 pounds' waist high
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time, whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop, or bend into awkward positions while performing job functions
