Position available for the 2023-24 School Year
POSITION TITLE: Student Resource Officer
QUALIFICATIONS: Cleet Training, National Criminal History Background Check, CPR Training (District will provide CPR
Training)
REPORTS TO: Angelia Noel
Supervises Volunteers, Students, Parents
Evaluation: Annually, by the building supervisor(s)

Regular Requirements: Stand for extended periods; walk; twist at the neck and trunk; bend and reach with hands and arms overhead, above the shoulder, and horizontally; repetitive use of fingers and hands to grasp and/or operate equipment and demonstrate lessons to students
Occasional Requirements: Lift/move up to 50 pounds, ability to administer CPR
Visual Requirements: Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus
Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides a safe and secure environment by monitoring and assessing the school campus and area around the building.
- Proactively and creatively supports the school culture to support a safe and strong culture.
- Monitors entrance and departure of students, parents/guardians, and other visitors.
- Monitors visitors entering and exiting the building.
- Monitors traffic before and after school.
- Monitors student flow before and after school.
- Writes reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as property damage, theft, the presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
- Provide added security for various events as needed.
- Communicates with supervisors and co-workers via phone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
- Resolves conflicts.
- Ensuring parents and visitors follow the school’s visitor protocol and assisting visitors who come to the office.
- Ensure students are meeting hallway transition and bathroom expectations. Records and reports scholars who do uphold expectations.
- Assists students who struggle consistently with following directions, attendance, or other various challenges.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience (preferred) as a School Resource Officer or as a Security/Police Officer
- Cleet Certification
School Vehicle Supplied during work hours.

- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Serve on committees as assigned.
- Remain current on instructional practices in education. (e.g., instructional technology)
