Purpose of this Job:
This job is responsible mainly for providing production engineering support in achieving quality, cost and delivery goals of the assembly processes.
Requirements
Principle Duties/Essential Functions:
- To provide support and assure production equipment is able to make quality products during manufacturing operation.
- Reduce production costs by use of specially designed machinery.
- Develop process design concepts that reduce labor costs in Assembly.
Other Tasks/Responsibilities:
- Assist manufacturing engineers in design of special equipment, design of layouts and schematics based on overall concept.
- Perform tests and studies of manufacturing processes under direction of manufacturing engineers.
- Assist in creating and updating the quality system process related controlled documentation.
- Prepare engineering drawings based on instructions.
- Control circulation, storage and distribution of drawings through CAD system.
- Responsible for awareness and compliance with company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Contributing to the effectiveness of the EHS policies and procedures by communicating and reporting unsafe conditions and/or non-compliances.
- Assist department management with projects as assigned.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- 1 to 3 years of experience of process engineering in a manufacturing area preferred.
- Must be capable of making decisions with a minimum of guidance and direction.
- Ability to conceptualize tasks and accomplish them.
- Exposure to the automotive industry and ISO 9001/TS/IATF 16949 and Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) requirements
- Understanding of industrial robotics, PLC’s, vision systems, HMI’s and automation control systems
- Proficiency in CAD systems. Experience with SolidWorks helpful.
- Familiar with automated/manual assembly operations and/or production machining
- Proficient with using MS Word, Excel, Power Point
- Continuously meets short deadlines while maintaining technical quality of the results.

Physical Demands:
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Some occasional lifting may be involved.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
- Employee must regularly wear safety glasses and safety shoes.
- Other PPE may be required based on specific projects.
Work Environment/Hours:
- Primary work areas are located in an office and production settings.
- Must be able to work normal office hours plus provide support on evenings and weekend (as needed)
- Must be able to deal with a wide variety of people on a personal level.
- 50% Office environment, 50%, Manufacturing environment
Primary Work Location:
- Wylie, TX
Travel Requirements:
- 10 – 15% domestic
- 0-5% international to countries such as, but not limited to, Japan, Poland, France and Mexico
