Job Summary:

The Human Resources Manager at Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort is responsible for overseeing daily HR functions, ensuring compliance with labor laws, managing payroll processes, and responsible for the International Labor process. This role requires in-depth knowledge of domestic and international labor laws, payroll management, and employment regulations. The HR Manager will play a key role in fostering a positive workplace culture while supporting the resort’s operational and strategic HR initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all HR operations, including employee relations, compliance, payroll, benefits administration, and talent management.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international labor laws, including wage and hour regulations, equal employment practices, and workplace safety standards.
  • Manage payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate compensation, while adhering to legal and tax requirements.
  • Develop and implement HR policies and procedures to support company goals and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide guidance to managers and employees on HR-related matters, including performance management, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
  • Responsible for international recruitment and hiring efforts, ensuring best practices are followed in candidate selection, onboarding and housing.
  • Lead and oversee training and development initiatives to enhance employee engagement and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop workforce planning strategies and retention initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with visa and work permit requirements for international employees, working with legal counsel as needed.
  • Maintain accurate HR records, reports, and documentation in compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Handle employee grievances and investigations, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
  • Monitor HR trends and industry best practices to enhance the resort’s HR functions.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 2 years in a management role.
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. labor laws, payroll regulations, and international employment laws.
  • Experience with payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and benefits administration.
  • Strong understanding of visa sponsorship, work permits, and international employment compliance.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR technology systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR) is highly desirable.
  • Experience in the hospitality, resort, or tourism industry.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

  • Office setting with occasional need to visit different resort locations.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and move around the property as needed.
  • Some travel may be required for training and professional development.
