General Purpose:
The Lead Dock Attendant is the face of the Marina operations, providing exceptional customer service, expediting all business offerings, and maintaining all facets of Dock operations.
Essential Duties:
- Helps to train and mentor Dock Attendants
- Work with Dockmaster to execute goals as needed.
- Secure boats to dock with mooring lines.
- Connect utility lines (shore power and water) to boats.
- Pump sewage from boats.
- Deliver ice, messages, mail and packages to patrons.
- Perform daily trash pick-up in all areas.
- Operate golf cart to transport patrons and baggage to and from dockside.
- Accommodate guest’s needs; respond to guest complaints and requests.
- Light mechanical duties as needed.
- Promote Marina and Resort activities to guests.
- Prepare docks for daily operation.
- Fuel boats.
- Keep area clean and neat.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic Required Skills
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace.
- Must be able to read and write to facilitate the communication process.
- Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Valid driver’s license that has been in effect for at least three years, with no major violations and no more than two minor violations in the past three years.
- May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Physical Demands
- Most work tasks are performed primarily outdoors in the natural environment as well as indoor as needed.
- Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 5 hours in length.
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks.
- Must be able to exert a well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously.
- Must be able to lift items weighing up to 50-100 lbs. as needed on a daily basis.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability, and visual acuity.
- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and other employees.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
