Position Overview: Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort is seeking a dedicated and reliable Dishwasher/Steward to join our team. This position is essential to maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of our kitchen and dining operations. The ideal candidate will be able to handle a fast-paced environment, adhere to high standards of cleanliness, and perform a variety of physical tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Dishwashing: Operate dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, glassware, utensils, and cookware. Ensure that all items are properly sanitized and free of debris.
Cleaning Duties: Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces. Dispose of trash and recyclables properly.
Stock Management: Assist in stocking and organizing kitchen supplies, including dishes, utensils, and cleaning materials.
Maintenance: Report any issues with kitchen equipment or supplies to the supervisor. Ensure that all equipment is cleaned and maintained according to health and safety standards.
Support: Assist kitchen staff with food preparation and other tasks as needed. Help with setup and breakdown of dining areas.
Physical Requirements:
Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time (up to 8 hours) on hard surfaces.
Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry heavy items, such as trays, pots, and pans, up to 50 pounds regularly.
Bending and Reaching: Frequent bending, reaching, and stretching to load and unload dishwashers and to clean various areas.
Manual Dexterity: Ability to use hands and fingers to handle objects and operate equipment.
Endurance: Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physical tasks continuously.
Stamina: Ability to work under pressure, including maintaining a high level of physical activity throughout shifts.
Qualifications:
Experience: Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to follow instructions, and excellent time management skills.
Attitude: A positive attitude and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.
