Position Summary
The Director of Rehabilitation Services is responsible for leading, managing, and overseeing the rehabilitation department within our Skilled Nursing Facility. This includes supervising therapy staff, ensuring regulatory compliance, developing and implementing effective rehabilitation programs, and delivering outstanding patient outcomes.
This position is ideal for an experienced rehab professional with a proven track record in skilled nursing settings and a passion for patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management :
Supervise, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of therapists (PT, OT, SLP, and assistants).
Provide strategic direction to meet departmental goals and resident care needs.
Manage departmental budgets, resources, and staffing levels effectively.
Program Development & Compliance :
Design and implement innovative rehabilitation programs tailored to meet the needs of short-term and long-term residents.
Ensure compliance with state, federal, and corporate policies and procedures.
Monitor and maintain accurate documentation to meet regulatory requirements.
Patient Care :
Oversee the delivery of high-quality therapeutic services, ensuring measurable outcomes.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and other interdisciplinary teams to create individualized care plans.
Serve as a resource for clinical expertise and ensure adherence to best practices.
Quality Assurance :
Participate in Utilization Review (UR) meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Review and analyze rehabilitation metrics and outcomes to optimize department performance.
Address patient and family concerns promptly and professionally.
Qualifications
- Education : Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, or Speech-Language Pathology (required).
- Licensure : Current and active licensure as a PT, OT, or SLP in the state of Florida.
- Experience :
- Minimum of 3-5 years of rehabilitation experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
- At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience in a rehab setting.
- Skills :
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and other payer regulations.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Preferred : Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems and proficiency in therapy software.
