What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician – Grounds and Housekeeping – Hoke– PT position at Sandhills Community College?
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting all aspects exterior and interior housekeeping, general maintenance, and grounds duties for the Hoke Campus. Position may require work during after-hours and weekends. The duties and responsibilities include – but are not limited to – the following:
Prioritize and conduct routine preventive grounds, housekeeping, and maintenance duties on buildings, building components, grounds, and equipment as assigned through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Review and request updates to the PM Task List with the Maintenance Supervisor and Facilities Director when needed.
Prioritize, create, and complete non-PM work orders assigned through the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Conduct routine housekeeping maintenance of assigned areas continually throughout the day.
Restock restrooms in all buildings on a revolving schedule.
Conduct minor maintenance to equipment, hardware, and fixtures including tightening screws, replacing vacuum belts, replacing lamps, etc.
Assist with furniture and furniture moves for special events, as requested/needed.
Mowing and blowing of the grounds and buildings for each facility.
Conduct all duties – general and seasonal – associated with the maintenance/repair of landscaped areas, turf, trees, irrigation systems, and general grounds while reporting other observed required maintenance needs to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Assist with maintenance of ground equipment.
Help maintain and monitor parts and supply inventories.
Report to campus following inclement weather events to clean and remove snow and ice. [Exception: Office staff are not required to report following inclement weather events.]
Perform all duties and assist all persons on our campus in a professional manner that honors and promotes the five core values of Sandhills Community College, which are: integrity, [persistent] helpfulness, excellence, respect and opportunity. High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Valid North Carolina Driver’s License.
Grounds maintenance experience is preferred.
Experience using mobile device technology including apps, messaging, etc.
Ability to participate in safety training and to comprehend and practice the training in course of duty.
Ability to interact, communicate, and maintain effective relations with students, the public, faculty, and staff.
Ability to follow guidelines/directives and maintain a neat and professional appearance
