We are seeking an experienced, reliable, and loving full-time nanny to care for an 18-month-old toddler in Aberdeen, NC. The family is looking for someone who will create a nurturing, engaging, and active environment for their child. The nanny’s primary responsibility will be to care for the toddler, although care for the family’s newborn will also be part of the role in the future.
Job Responsibilities:
- Toddler Care: Engage with the toddler in a variety of activities such as neighborhood walks, backyard play, educational play, sensory activities, and basic sports (kicking, catching, running, throwing).
- Meal Preparation & Feeding: Prepare and serve healthy, age-appropriate meals for breakfast and lunch.
- Nap Assistance: Help the toddler fall asleep for his daily nap. The family prefers a gentle approach—staying in the room until the toddler falls asleep.
- Light Housekeeping: Tidy up after the toddler, clean up eating/play areas, assist with toddler’s laundry, and help with food prep during nap time.
- Pet Care: The family has a friendly dog, Rita, who will join the morning walks, and the nanny should be comfortable around pets.
Ideal Candidate:
- Experience: Previous experience working with toddlers is essential. Nanny should have a solid understanding of age-appropriate developmental milestones and activities.
- Personality: The ideal nanny is kind, reliable, trustworthy, active, and non-smoking. Someone who loves children and is comfortable around dogs is a must.
- Moral Alignment: The family values someone who aligns with their morals and teachings based on Christian principles.
- Comfortable with Cameras: The family uses cameras in the house, and the nanny should be comfortable with this.
- No Screen Time: The nanny should be committed to providing screen-free care and keeping phones away during interactions with the toddler.
- Languages: Proficiency in English is required; Spanish is a bonus.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Hourly Rate: Starting at $18 per hour, with potential for an increase after 90 days based on performance.
- Paid Holidays: Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Thanksgiving Day, Labor Day, New Year’s Eve
- Paid Vacation: 2 weeks per year
- Paid Sick Days: 6 days per year (accrued after 90 days)
- Increased Pay: After 6 months, when the toddler begins attending a 3-day daycare program, additional care will be needed for the newborn, and pay will be reviewed for an increase.
- Bonus: Christmas bonus.
