OVERALL JOB PURPOSE
The Lending Center Consultant works closely with members and guide them through the loan process. The position will provide excellent service to all members by ensuring they understand the terms of the loan, and offer debt protection products. Collects documentation to protect the Credit Union’s interest and look for additional cross-sell opportunities to best support each member.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reviews loan applications and conducts member interviews ensuring all necessary documentation is obtained and accurate. Collects any missing or relevant information that may assist the Underwriter in making the loan decision.

Analyzes credit reports to effectively cross-sell additional loan products and other Credit Union services based on the individual member needs.

Meets established goals for the sale of debt protection products as well as GAP and MRC.

Ensures all loan information and documentation is uploaded to the Loan Origination Software.

Provides additional information regarding the loan to the Underwriter by utilizing the Comment section in the Loan Origination System.

Complies with all lending policies and federal regulations throughout the loan origination process.

Assists the member and the Digital Services Department in establishing memberships for new applicants.

Delivers exceptional customer service throughout the loan application process by addressing the member’s questions and concerns.

Collects appropriate documentation from the members ensure the Credit Union’s lien can be perfected at origination. When necessary, follows up with members or other institutions to collect appropriate documentation or titles.

Works with Member Records to determine the appropriate titling fees that need to be collected when necessary.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Possess in-depth knowledge of consumer loan products, lending policies, debt protection products and other relevant details in order to determine the most suitable loan options.
- Requires excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- General knowledge of credit union lending is desirable.
- Must be able to lift up to 10 lbs.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two year Business or related degree preferred or two to four years credit union experience with progressive responsibilities in new account and/or loan operations.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- General knowledge of credit union operations may be desirable.
