Salary Range
$86,300 - $142,300
- Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
What Your Job Will Be Like
We are looking for a creative and resourceful Systems Research and Analysis professional to join our diverse team of engineers and scientists. You will be responsible for clarifying and understanding customer needs, working with both quantitative and qualitative data, and sharing findings and recommendations with a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences. You will work with a team of multi-disciplinary professionals to provide analyses and solutions that will have a meaningful impact on the security of our nation and the world. On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Define the problem to be solved and formulate solution requirements, working with decision-makers to refine the solution space.
- Gather qualitative or quantitative data through focus groups, interviews, or surveys.
- Use technical skills to analyze diverse datasets originating from a variety of sources to draw conclusions and identify cause and effect relationships to support leadership decisions, recommend a course of action, inform system design decisions, or solve organizational issues.
- Deliver written project deliverables and presentations to audiences with differing levels of technical expertise, interest and points of view.
- Coordinate with other members of hybrid project teams to derive meaningful results, provide innovative solutions to system design, recommend ways to optimize human or system performance, and generate novel insights.
Qualifications We Require
- Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in a STEM or social science field
- Gathering, wrangling, and analyzing quantitative and/or qualitative data
- Planning and completing surveys, focus groups, or interviews
- Ability to acquire and maintain DOE Q clearance
Qualifications We Desire
- Proficiency in natural language processing (NLP)
- Familiarity with:
- Statistical packages/programs such as SPSS, SAS, JMP, STATA, Python, or R
- Qualitative data analysis program like NVIVO, ATLAS.ti, or Dedoose
- Demonstrated ability to work with a interdisciplinary team of professionals
- Ability to contribute to multiple projects at once
- Interest in developing new skills and becoming proficient with new software
- Excellent time management skills and adherence to deadlines
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Active DOE Q or DOD TS clearance

Security Clearance
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Position Information
This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.
Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
