Position Summary

Responsible for delivering high quality professional candidates to the Pueblo of Sandia and its entities. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will work closely with hiring managers to identify staffing needs and will utilize various sourcing strategies to fill open positions, efficiently. In addition, this individual will perform full lifecycle recruiting and maintain excellent relations with hiring managers, candidates, and the community at-large.

 Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Recruits’ applicants by attending college/job fairs at schools and businesses and by networking with community workforce resources to advance the Pueblo of Sandia as a prospective employer within the community.
  2. Identifies and implements efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.
  3. Coordinates the recruitment process and responds to employment questions from team members and applicants.
  4. Maintains a network of contacts and recruiting sources to recruit the best qualified candidates.
  5. Reviews resumes and credentials within applicant tracking system for required skills, experience, and knowledge in relation to position requirements.
  6. Performs searches for qualified candidates according to relevant job criteria, using computer databases, networking, internet recruiting resources, cold calls, media, data mining, and employee referrals.
  7. Provides complete, accurate, and inspiring information to candidates about the company and position.
  8. Refers selected applicants to hiring department manager/director for interview process.
  9. Performs background and reference checks on all applicants for employment.
  10. Facilitates the new hire paperwork process and schedules pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
  11. Extends offers of employment to selected candidates under the direction of the hiring managers and within the guidelines of the Pueblo of Sandia’s policy and procedures. 
  12. Compiles statistical data for all hire actions; oversees HRIS applicant-tracking system for preparation and generation of employment activities reports.
  13. Conducts orientation sessions for screening committee/hiring supervisor to outline hiring responsibilities and employment policies and procedures.
  14. Assists with team member development training activities and new team member orientations, as required.
  15. Assists with the interview process, attending, and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
  16. Develops an effective pipeline of key talent, potentially available for immediate hire, as needed in succession planning.
  17. Establishes and maintains staffing requisition files to ensure compliance of recruitment and selection documentation.
  18. Reviews all new hire packets and Personnel Action Requests (PAR’s) for completion and accuracy before submitting to Talent Acquisition Manager for approval.
  19. Punctual and regular attendance is an essential responsibility for all team members and are expected to report to work based upon the assigned schedule each day in accordance with the Attendance Policy for Pueblo of Sandia.

 Key Performance Indicators

This position has Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) identified as a measurement of success.  KPI’s will be shared with all team members who work in this job title and feedback will be provided regarding the successful completion of the KPI’s as part of the performance review process.

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  1. Knowledge of recruitment and employment documentation principles, procedures, requirements, strategies, candidate sourcing, and techniques.
  2. Ability to analyze job requirements and ensure appropriate applicant selection criteria is being adhered to.
  3. Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information.
  4. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills.
  5. Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
  6. Must have the ability to quickly learn systems, processes, and procedures.
  7. Demonstrated skills in PC applications, including word processing, spread sheets data bases, and HRIS systems
  8. Proficient with, or the ability to quickly learn Applicant Tracking Software, or other recruitment systems.
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  10. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  11. Ability to handle multiple activities, projects, and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  12. Ability to maintain confidential information.
  13. General understanding of human resources practices and administration. 
  14. Ability to work harmoniously and professionally with team members and supervisors.

   Education And Experience  

Required

  1. Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Business Management or a related field of study.
  2. Three (3) years of experience directly related to the Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the position.. 

Preferred

  1. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish

Note: Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.

License/Certifications/Registrations

  1. Must possess a valid, unrestricted New Mexico Driver’s Licence.
  2. Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation.
  3. Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening.
