ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST/ACCOUNTANT
Sandoval Construction, LLC currently has an opening for an Accounting Specialist working in our Montrose, CO office.
The accountant typically works Monday – Friday.
The accountant is responsible for ensuring the accounting database is accurate and reliable, bills are entered on a timely basis, biweekly payroll is processed, cost reports are prepared, etc. He/she will work closely with Accounting and supervise daily activities.
Specific responsibilities include, however are not limited to:
· Supervise accounting activities and staff.
· Receiving and entering Accounts Payable information.
· Generating and mailing invoices.
· Generating and tracking change orders.
· Tracking Accounts Receivable.
· Following up on past due accounts for payment.
· Monitoring accounts payable to ensure all bills are paid on a timely basis.
· Posting deposits and expenses to correct accounts.
· Reconciling vendor account statements.
· Reconciling bank statements and closing each month within 5 days of month-end.
· Conducting random audits to ensure entries are accurate.
· Processing payroll.
· Processing bill payments.
· Filing and remitting taxes and other financial obligations.
· Prepare cost reports for projects and as requested.
· Preparing Balance Sheet, P & L, etc.
· Maintaining and reporting on KPIs.
· Analyzing month-end and year-end reports to make recommendations for improvements.
· Interacting with employees, customers, vendors, and the public in a professional manner.
· Understanding and complying with all Federal and State regulations.
Required Qualifications
- College-level Accounting classes, including Cost, Financial and Managerial Accounting, or equivalent education and experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- 5 years of work experience as a cost accountant, analyst, or other relevant role.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and best practices.
- Knowledgeable of accounting software programs, such as QuickBooks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly proficient computer skills.
- Consistently applies sound judgement.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Proven time management skills with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Maintains confidentiality of business information.
Preferred Qualifications
· Quick Books experience.
· One year experience processing payroll with ACH transactions.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
