Job Overview
The Billing Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of the billing process, ensuring the timely and accurate preparation, issuance, and collection of invoices. Responsibilities
- Process medical billing claims accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.
- Utilize coding knowledge to assign appropriate codes for services rendered.
- Perform account reconciliations to ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and discrepancies are addressed promptly.
- Maintain proficiency in PeopleSoft and other billing software to manage accounts effectively.
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette while communicating with clients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers to resolve billing inquiries.
- Negotiate payment plans or settlements with clients as necessary to facilitate timely payments.
- Conduct 10 key typing tasks for data entry related to billing information and account management.
- Stay updated on GAAP principles and industry standards to ensure compliance in all billing practices.
