JOB PROFILE
As the first point of contact for customers, the Inside Sales Representative is responsible for answering and responding to customer issues with a sense of personal accountability and professionalism. This role is also a key member of a sales team with the aim of building long-term customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Initiates calls to existing customers to generate additional business.
- Participates as a sales or account team member to enhance customer relationships.
- Answers all designated incoming calls from external sources within the stated guidelines.
- Assesses customer inquiries and routes to the appropriate person or department.
- Takes ownership of customer issues and ensures commitments are met as promised.
- Processes sales orders by phone, email, and E-business platforms.
- Expedited urgent orders to ensure customers receive them when needed.
- Advises supervisor of customer concerns and solicits support where needed.
- Proactively informs customers of changes to order status, backlog issues, or other relevant matters.
- Utilizes tools and resources provided (sourcing allocation, stock, rob jobs, etc…) to satisfy customer requirements.
- Creates monthly CSR reports as requested.
- Assists Expeditor in ensuring the accuracy of customer backorder status.
- In support of outside Sales Representatives, participate in relevant on-site customer meetings with Key Accounts.
- Manages the Aftermarket sales process, which includes managing the supplier network, quoting end customers, coordinating delivery, and invoicing.
- Work with the accounts receivable department to ensure cash collection.
- Support Key Account Managers with customer requests for quotes, availability, forecasting, pricing, and technical information.
- Proactive response to order inquiries, including, but not limited to, order status, delivery schedule, and logistics relative to shipments, with exceptional service level.
- Request freight quotes from carriers and schedule shipments as required. Upon customer delivery, obtain proof of Delivery from carriers.
- Effectively manage container orders for delivery and invoicing.
- Maintain and update weekly backorder reports and participate in virtual customer meetings.
- Maintain Sandvik safety first requirements in these areas: cyber security, health and wellbeing, psychological safety,
- Attend EHS training and maintain up-to-date learning.
- Take 5’s, hazard reporting and proper PPE.
- Collaborate in a virtual environment

- Actively in engage and participate in team chatter
- Attend in person Team meetings
- Attend face-to-face team meetings as well as weekly virtual team meetings
Education / Experience
- Associate degree, College diploma, or equivalent experience
- 2-5 years of customer excellence experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Customer Relationship Management tools (e.g. Salesforce)
- Passionate about building and maintaining high customer satisfaction and service orientation
- High level of attention to detail
- Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability and willingness to learn and become proficient in Sandvik Operating Systems (currently Aurora and Salesforce)
- Affinity & willingness to learn technical product aspects
- Written and verbal presentation skills
- Database extraction
- Flexible, self-motivated, and strong active listening skills
- Strong report-writing skills
- Digital literacy
- Willingness to learn about customer’s industry
- Ability to work in a virtual and office environment
- Have a strong desire for continuous learning and to improve
