Key performance areas
The Regional Sourcing Manager defines and executes purchasing strategies geared to the respective category to secure best possible supplier offerings. This role will require learning about new suppliers and nurturing supplier relationships. The role is the management of supplier agreements and the final selection and, if necessary, consolidation of suppliers. Manager will run tenders and is therefore also responsible for the preparation and execution of supplier negotiations.
The main responsibilities are :
- Lead and develop the regional procurement organization efficiently and effectively, with responsibility to continuously optimize quality and commercial conditions for goods and services.
- Continuously review and optimize the regional sourcing strategy in alignment with global procurement strategy.
- Develop robust network of suppliers with optimal cost, quality, and timely delivery to support Walter Sales Unit and Production Unit in the region of Americas.
- Strategize and implement strategy for key categories to achieve continuous cost containment, improve Suppliers' performance and mitigate supply risk to meet expectations of internal and external customers through supplier development and continuous improvement programs.
- Manage the sourcing spend of with direct / indirect materials and the 3rd party tools within Region Americas
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state regulations as well as compliance with applicable standards of Sandvik Group.
Your profile
The preferred candidate should have a technical background, ideally in metal cutting, and have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Experience in strategic sourcing of direct materials (metal cutting tools, raw material) as well as experience in consolidating of indirect materials in the US and North America. Travel will be expected for this role - 50% domestically with some international travel.
