Safety Officer

We are looking for a passionate person interested in helping others during their recovery to join our expanding team in Marne, MI.

Role and Responsibilities

• Monitors and analyzes CCTV.
• Conducts interior and exterior checks of property to ensure there are no safety hazards or issues.
• Monitors and responds to various alarms and acts appropriately.
• Responds to emergency situations.
• De-escalates any incidents that may occur.
• Documents any incidents that occur and makes sure they are brought to supervisor’s attention.
• Interacts with clients and staff professionally and with discretion.
• Assists with facilities maintenance, able to lift 75 lbs.
• Escorts clients to any of the Grand Rapids facilities.
• Adheres to all HIPAA regulations, requirements, and guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, required.
• Valid driver’s license with no restrictions, required.
• CPR/1st Aid/AED certification, required or willing to complete.
• Criminal background check, required.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, organizational skills, critical thinking, and good decision-making abilities.
• Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
• Knowledge of substance use disorder; mental health illnesses and the recovery modality is preferred.
• Law Enforcement/first responder experience preferred.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality on all client records and business-related records, as required under HIPAA guidelines.
