Estimator
Team member will lead the Estimation efforts of the Building Division for Sanford Contractors. Team member must have the ability to organize as well as prioritize and pay attention to detail. This position is responsible for managing proposals, budgeting, estimating, scheduling, value analysis, and design management while ensuring a strategic and collaborative approach. Team Member must have the actions and appearance that represents the Sanford Contractors brand at all times.

Core Duties:

· Review advertisements for bid opportunities and present opportunities aligned with the needs of the division based on personnel needs and Division Project Portfolio Strategies as determined by the Division VP
· Complete accurate bids/budgets on projects in a timely manner for commercial building projects
· Attend project meetings as needed
· Responsible for developing comprehensive building project estimates, managing proposals, budgeting, estimating, scheduling, value analysis, and design management of each project
· Utilize Procore Bid Board, Construct Connect, and Bluebeam to track bid opportunities, manage subcontractor communications, and perform estimating and takeoffs for commercial buildings
· Conduct research and development related to commercial building systems, material product selection, costs, and building codes
· Distribute bid packages, review and evaluate bids and proposals from suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors; able to utilize Construct Connect and other platforms to orchestrate this effort
· Obtain and review quotes from contractors, subcontractors, and service providers while conducting quantity surveys and material takeoffs for assigned scopes of work
· Maintain the Master Budget Template, GMP Estimate Roll-Up, and cost guidance models
· Identify and pursue opportunities based on feedback from division leadership regarding personnel needs, designer relationships, design-build opportunities, and project portfolio expansion
· Demonstrate mathematical skills necessary for cost analysis, budgeting, and financial reporting
· Possess knowledge and understanding of construction methodologies, particularly in general for commercial construction
· Ability to conceptualize projects with minimal information and effectively translate owner/architect requirements into actionable estimates
· Be willing to go the extra mile with surges in workloads
· Communicate time away from work with the Division leader and other team members with sufficient notice
· Willingness to work hours as required
· Oversee preconstruction meetings and develop preconstruction schedules
· Ensure constructability reviews and conflict resolution in design
· Track project pursuit success and guide sales strategy
· Lead preconstruction efforts and coordinate directly with Project Managers and Project Coordinators
· Emphasize relationship-building and strategic project pursuit
Education/Training/Certification:
§ BS Degree in Design/Civil Engineering/Construction Management (Preferred)
§ Proficiency in Procore, Construct Connect, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite
§ OSHA 10
§ First Aid/CPR
§ Minimum 5 Years experience in the current market for commercial building construction
