Our client, a dynamic non-profit organization, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This individual will report directly to the Finance Director and will play a key role in managing all accounting functions. The Senior Accountant will ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, maintain financial records, and support decision-making by providing detailed analysis and insights into financial performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Statements Preparation:
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure the timely and accurate completion of financial reporting.
- Present financial statements to the Finance Director and assist in communicating key financial information to senior management and external stakeholders.
Reconciliations:
- Oversee the reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial data as needed.
Variance Analysis:
- Conduct variance analysis on budget vs. actuals and provide explanations for significant variances.
- Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and projections based on analysis of historical trends.
Accounts Payable & Receivable:
- Review and ensure accuracy of accounts payable and receivable transactions.
- Oversee the processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
- Ensure all vendor and client accounts are reconciled and kept up to date.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Maintain compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Assist with audits, ensuring all financial documentation and records are in order.
- Stay current with changes in accounting regulations and standards relevant to the non-profit sector.
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the finance department to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Recommend and implement best practices for financial reporting and accounting processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards, especially within the non-profit sector.
- Experience with financial software
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
