Job Summary
The primary function of the Network Administrator is to set up, administer, monitor and support the network infrastructure and ensure security, availability and performance levels are met.
Essential Job Functions

- Fully support, install, configure, maintain and upgrade corporate customer's networks at different locations.
- Engage in regular network troubleshooting activities and resolve network connectivity issues.
- Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network equipment as well as network connected equipment.
- Ensure network security and connectivity evaluating and recommending system upgrades, patches, security improvements, system upgrades and new applications and equipment.
- Monitor network performance to ensure reliability (availability, utilization, throughput, goodput, and latency). This can include reviewing error logs, conducting regular tests of system speed and reliability, and following up on issues reported by users.
- Provide technical support and guidance for users in network related topics with a variety of operating systems.
- Prepare and maintain documentation of network configurations and cabling layouts.
- Train team members on new hardware or software.
- Conduct routine system audits to assess security and stability, changing configuration to resolve issues or improve reliability.
- Assist in network design and implementation.
- Monitor policies for the use of network resources.
- Create and maintain network users / permissions.
- Test release of products to minimize user impact and ensure compatibility.
- Create technical support documentation for systems and applications.
- Available to work outside of regular hours, in response to an implementation, an emergency or unexpected need.
