What's the Short Version?
The Cash Applications Representative I is responsible for applying customer account payments in a timely and accurate manner. The Cash Applications Team works with others in the Credit Department, providing current visibility into account status which impacts SanMar's customers by ensuring orders are not unnecessarily delayed. Forms of customer payments include, checks and bank deposit preparation, ACH payments, Wires, Credit Card payments. Representatives also assist SanMar's customers by processing UPS claims. Cash Applications Representatives are an integral part of the SanMar Team.

Salary Range: You`ll earn between $18.75 - $22.85 (WA, NJ); $17.25 - $21.02 (MN, NV, TX, VA); $16.13 - $19.65 (AZ, ID, FL MT, OH, TN) on an hourly basis, depending on experience.
Bonus: You`ll be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus up to $2,000.
Paid Time Off: You`ll accrue paid time off on a weekly basis based on hours worked, up to a maximum of 112 hours per year to start. Employees also receive 7 paid holidays and 1 paid family day off.

Remote: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Ability to work on computer for multiple hours with frequent interruptions.

Cash Applications Representatives are an integral part of the SanMar Team.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Process daily customer payments, preparing bank deposits as needed for check payments.
- Post payments accurately and timely, meeting department productivity standards.
- Prepare customer payment detail for posting, including creating an excel spreadsheet with payment detail.
- Maintain UPS payment spreadsheet, entering daily payment details.
- Prepare UPS claims, filing in a timely and accurate manner.
- Responsible for reconciling any discrepancies found in balancing.
What Are We Looking For?
- High School Diploma Preferred
- Less than 1 year experience in credit or applications support is preferred
- Proficient in basic math skills
- Accurate 10 key by touch
- Must have strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel and Adobe Standard
- Be able to accurately post high volumes of payments to customer’s accounts
- Maintain high level of confidentiality
- Have the ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines
- Must work well under pressure, while maintaining a high level of accuracy
- Demonstrate excellent customer service skills and the ability to be responsive to customer needs, with professionalism, respect and consideration of others
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to learn the company’s proprietary software and computer system
- Reliable with excellent attendance and punctuality. Able to work overtime on occasion
- Exceptional problem solving skills
- Self-motivated and comfortable with repetitive tasks
- Work well in team environment and independently
