Work Hours :
During regular business hours 7 : 00 am 6 : 00 pm (8 hours per day)

Position Summary
The Formulation Specialist will provide support to the sales team, generate formula quotations, evaluate component replacements, evaluate formulations and packaging in preparation for production, and assist in label review to maintain compliance with label claims and FDA requirements.
Duties / Responsibilities
Provide service and support to the sales staff by generating nutritional product quotations.
Use formulating software and our ERP system software.
Identify the best combination of components to meet the clients label claim and packaging requirements and generate a quotation to be approved for sale.
Assist in label reviews to maintain compliance with label claims and FDA requirements.
Complete formulations with 100% nutritional label claim accuracy.
Complete formulation deliverables in a timely manner.
Contribute to 95% on time customer service levels.
Conduct bench top formulations and sample for productions and customers as needed.
Work with Production to improve manufacturing capabilities as needed.
Flavor products as required.
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Math, Business, Business Management, Computer Science or work-related equivalent experience required.
Science or Biology background knowledge preferred for terminology.
Experience with FDA / cGMP compliance and DSHEA is strongly recommended.
Knowledge and capability to convert nutrient unit claims to milligrams.
Strong technical knowledge of product formulation in the Dietary Supplement industry is preferred.
Familiarity with the pricing structure of raw ingredients, production and packaging costs is preferred.
Experience with prioritization, problem solving and resource planning is desirable.
Experience and skills with organization, prioritization, problem solving, and risk management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software required.

Additional Notes :
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Working conditions are normal for an office environment with an occasional warehouse & production environment. These environments may included : standing, sitting, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in required personal protective equipment (including hearing protection). Occasionally subject to atmospheric conditions, such as fumes, odors, powders, dust, and other particles. The position may require flexible hours with the occasional weekend and evening work as needed by the company.
