Looking for an L 2 support person
Tech Stack is around 30 applications, not all of them have the same input of volume, some are bigger than others.
NOT LOOKING FOR A SYS ADMIN, THIS IS PRODUCTION SUPPORT / APPLICATION SUPPORT THAT RUNS ON LARGE (hundreds of Red Hat Servers) LINUX SYSTEMS Most of the applications is Written in Java you don t need to code in Java. But be able to read it an debug Linux Skills are important. Data Extraction requests and MUST HAVE SQL Have some applications running on Azure They work with several DBMS SYBASE / DB2 and SNOWFLAKE, Postres, GreenPlum, they have SQL lite for automation. MS SQL Server <--- DON T NEED ALL< need some, oracle is good They also use Azure SQL Server They have a private cloud knowledge of what is a container is desired, Linux host They use IBM MQ, Kafka Splunk Grafana Prometheus Loki and Tempo Service Now the incident report also creates a service now ticket, with action items
Client facing applications to internal clients. In house applications, most of what you are supporting is in house developed systems
Day to day work user tickets, person will have to go investigate and possibly escalate and look thru logs to find problems. May need to jump on Splunk for logging GO INSIDE THE UNIX BOXES to go thru linux commands to trouble shoot Infrastructure alerts (from application or the infrastructure, both) deal with the alerts. <--- This is on a shift basis 1 hour or 2 hour shift to cover. During that time you are responsible for whatever comes SRE Principals are required.
What is an incident, how to approach Run a call in an incident. Confident to communicate, analyze get on the phoen with people as you escalate to someone else. You will need to talk to the Users / Client, understand it and get people involved. Involve the senior people I the group.
Application support person, handle investigations run query and run and incident call.
TOP SKILLS UNIX SQL Good communications skills Service Now.
Not looking for a sys admin or networking person doing application support, can search linux logs STRONGLY PREFER A FINANCIAL BACKGROUND, know what stocks are, settlements etc. Unix linux and SQL Shell Scripting is needed Python and Perl is a plus.
Unix Linux Command familiarity SQL queries Good communications. Someone who can do joins for SQL What is a tar file Performance detail of a unix cpu and swap memory to fix a host that is behaving slow. Pick up tools or commands that help this person diagnose what is wrong with it to take it to the next level.
How many tickets they handle a day? Can t five a number - it s 9-6 workign hous , could be 7-8 incidents per day the hours you work

Location: 1 NY Plaza ( Office Attendance 3 times per week from Day 1)
Coverage: Normal shift, Weekend support, Holiday work, late shift in rotations and extended shifts at times. <--- SAY THAT YOU ARE OPEN FOR THIS .
They have two shifts 9-6 and 11-8 late coverage is working from home 9-6 is working 3 days a week mandatory onsite.
Weekend is work from home, it s on call. Holiday coverage they may need to come into the office, or work from home
Bachelors: required 3 years minimum work experience, even 2 years is good.
