Position Overview:
We are seeking a specialist Power BI Developer (not a generalist or mixed-tech stack resource) to join our Business Performance & Analytics team. The ideal candidate must have dedicated experience working exclusively on Power BI projects, with a strong background in Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance. You will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining advanced dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insights into business and reinsurance performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop interactive, high-performance Power BI dashboards and reports that present reinsurance and financial data effectively.
- Build efficient data models and create advanced DAX calculations to support business objectives.
- Analyze data across underwriting, claims, and financial domains to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
- Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders to drive data-informed business strategies.
- Collaborate with internal users to gather requirements and convert them into scalable Power BI solutions.
- Integrate data from various sources into Power BI while ensuring high data integrity and consistency.
- Develop and maintain ETL pipelines and data transformation processes.
- Troubleshoot and support existing Power BI reports, making enhancements as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of reports, models, and analysis processes.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have solid, hands-on Power BI experience this is a specialist role, not suitable for general data professionals.
- Strong domain knowledge in P&C insurance (Reinsurance exposure preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in Power BI Desktop, Power Query, DAX, and data modeling.
- Solid experience with SQL and data manipulation techniques.
- Ability to analyze complex datasets and translate them into clear, actionable insights.
- Experience in data visualization best practices and storytelling with data.
- Proven ability to identify data-driven opportunities and solve business problems analytically.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting insights and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, accuracy in data handling, and meticulous documentation skills.
